9:33pm: SAKE 2
Wowsa it was crowded. The art was wonderful, and I got to see so many friends. I didn't bring my "real" camera, I just didn't want to mess with carrying it around. So I have no cool photos to show, none of the shots I took with my pocket camera are particularly interesting or in focus. Say La Vee!

I do, however, wish that this one of [info]deadlypoetry was a better quality image. I like the pose and that dress fits her like a glove!

3:29pm: SEAF
The Gala was quite wonderful, actually. I love it when someone really pays attention to lighting and ambiance. There were so many lovely things to see and I was so happy to get to shoot them. It got a little crowded and loud near the end, but hey, in a way that was a good thing. The larger and drunker crowd meant more money for the festival. Also the people who had a few drinks and were dancing and hula-hooping away were having a ball. Crowded is unfortunate for a photographer, though, as there were a few performances I couldn't even get one photo of because there was no way for me to get to the front of the crowd that had pressed in so tightly. And if I did manage to get in front, by staking out a spot before the performance began, I was trapped there. No mobility, slow shutter speeds, high ISO! Oh my!

I'll have a gallery up soon, but for now here's a photo taken by [info]syz of [info]spikyme and I. Members of the Seattle Fetish Photographer Mafia.

So who's doing what? I can't decide if I want to go to Neighbors or not. So crowded, so expensive, but there are people I'd like to see. Where is everyone going to be?

1:24pm: Plug for Kevin!
For those of you that don't have [info]spikyme on your friendslist, he has put together a book of his work that is available for sale, and would make a great holiday gift:

I especially like that he put it together himself, and no publishing company had a say in the content.

10:32pm: Ideas? Help?
UPDATE: Nevermind! My dad managed to make contact with the guy and he still has it. Thanks for your input!

I need to find a van. It was last known to have belonged to someone in the Seattle area, a guy who rents equipment to bands. Somewhere perhaps in the University District or Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

I have a photo of the front view, somewhere. It may be on film. I'll have to search for it...the headlights are a very distinctive bug-eyed round and the bumper is unusual. This is a custom built "hot rod" vehicle, with racing engine stuff that I don't have memorized well enough to document here. It has that lovely deep throated hot rod engine rumble. It was built by a guy who builds racecars, and he used it to tow his cars. So, here's the deal - the original owner wants it back. He has some kind of serious health problem, and in the time he has remaining he pines for this van. He sold it to my dad down in Southern Oregon years back, and after years of owning it my dad sold it to this young gentleman who rents band equipment, but contact information has been lost. My dad wants to help him out, and he may get some kind of sweet deal on some other interesting vehicle in exchange. My only real idea is to put up a craigslist ad, with some more information about the engine and such. What do you guys think?

10:49pm: Awesome Moment...
...of last night. 3 giggly gay boys staggering drunk down the street, dragging along one of those construction-folding-sign-with-a-blinking-yellow-light-on-the-top-thingies and a branch. With foliage attached. They were positively GIDDY.

Shots from the Abney Park performance last night at Doc Maynard's. I am so very stubborn about using my flash, I will put up with all kinds of supersoft focus, blur and grain so that I don't have to use it!

9:41pm: Underwater

I got to test out my new underwater housing for my point-n-shoot on Sunday, and it worked. We went to Colman pool, which is a saltwater pool in West Seattle. It was very uncrowded due to the weather, which was fine by me. Now if I only had private access to it and a model in a filmy dress, I'd be pretty happy!
